Interesting post!

I personally would love to try out some goji juice. I am now eating goji berries pretty much everyday (providing I don't forget!) and I wouldn't want to stop eating them, but this juice might be a nice way to add to the goji berries I'm eating and provide a different way of getting the benefits they provide :)

I have been using Goji Juice for a couple of months now and I think it's absolutely fantastic stuff. After my first month of using it I had a blood test at my doctors because I have diabetes. My nurse who gave me the results asked what I'd been up to, when I asked why she told me that my cholesterol was the lowest she had ever seen it at and my blood pressure (which has always been slightly high) was perfect. I couldn't believe how good things were looking after only taking a mouthful in the morning and one before going to bed at night. Since that time I've continued to take the juice as it's doing such a good job on my cholesterol and blood pressure. Obviously I have no idea what other benifits there could be to taking the juice but I now also buy the dried berries from health food shops as It can only help the process. I told a friend of mine about my remarkable results and he bought some for his mother who is also diabetic, her cholesterol has also dropped and his sister and brother have also started to take it as they say it helps with a dry scalp and also psoriasis (if that's the correct spelling).
Can't speak highly enough of these wonderful berries and especially the juice as thats where the results first started.

I would definitely give Goji Juice a shot, as for its nutritional content compared to actual Goji berries... I wouldn't have the foggiest idea; I can’t see it being that different.

I tried to make Goji juice some time ago but failed quite spectacularly.

I read the original article from mainland China about how it prevents cancer, and the article did not indicate how many berries were boiled to make the tea that would arrest the cancer. Goji juice is too diluted. The Chinese have been boiling the berries and drinking the water from this for thousands of years; however, and they use this as a general tonic for good health (good immunity).

Before I started eating the berries I read up on the Goji thing and a few of the articles I read did not recommend the juice as it may be marketed as goji berry juice but in fact it could be watered down or not 100% goji berry so I just stick to the real thing.

I'm not sure. Would probably be expensive, as I am in Spain? I like the berries because when I feel like snacking, they help me stick to good eating habits, rather than reaching for a biscuit!

Iquite like the berries as they are more versatile than the juice. They are good just to eat as nibbles, add a lovely flavour to smoothies and can be used in cooking. My friend who got me into goji, however, prefers the juice which she says has been very beneficial to her health

I really do not care about the juice one way or the other.

BUT, I really do love the raw berries and simply put them in my eggs, oatmeal and other foods. I put the berries in food after the food is cooked, not before.

I usually eat the Goji Berries as a snack and my son also eats the berries as I read somewhere they were good for acne and skin problems, but like anything he has good days and bad days with his skin.

I love Goji Berries and eat them every day mixed in with fruit salad consisting of strawberries, blue berries, grapes, melon and blackberries.

I would be interested in trying Goji juice, but would like to know if it is as beneficial as the berries and what the cost would be.

I have bought some of the juice but now Tesco have stopped selling it I haven't bothered to search elsewhere. I intend to just stick with the berries. In terms of taste I prefer other smoothies which are available and which also claim to be very health beneficial.

You cant beat the real thing for nutrients etc. Any juice that is pre packed has to be heated by law and the majority of the goodness has gone. The best way is to juice the berries yourself but as we eat them dried I think it would be pretty difficult. The only other option is to add them to a smoothy and drink straight away.

I have not tried Goji juice, but you can make a reasonable equivalent by soaking a small handful of berries in a glass of cold water overnight. The berries become soft, like raisins and you can either eat the berries and drink the juice as is, or make the whole into a smoothie. I have a glassful like this only about twice a week and already there has been a marked difference in my cholesterol and blood pressure. 'Rainbow' (12h April), must be eating them in handfuls daily to achieve her 'nervous' effect. Steady on, girl!
Don't know about juice - the comments about processing may well be correct - heat usually destroys vitamins and other goodies in ANY food. I managed to get some Goji Berries here, in the UK and also some from DrBenKim.com in Canada and I can't tell any difference. However, trying both for extended periods doesn't seem to have lessened the good effects, so I'm sticking to the Berries!

Don’t know about juice - the comments about processing may well be correct - heat usually destroys vitamins and other goodies in ANY food. I managed to get some Goji Berries here, in the UK and also some from DrBenKim.com in Canada and I can’t tell any difference. However, trying both for extended periods doesn’t seem to have lessened the good effects, so I’m sticking to the Berries!

I for the most part add a hand full of goji berries in to my 3 horse power blender together with other fruits and veg. That is my solution.
When on the road I eat them whole.

Hi Arthur,
Last year I visited a friend in France who had a dozen Goji bushes. He used them as items of fruit, rather like grapes and I must say that the fresh berries went very well with a ripe, soft (runny) Brie. He had a bit of a glut of berries and put a pile in the juicer. I personally found the pure juice pleasant & refreshing (sharp) but without body. This was soon corrected by adding a bit of pulp - much better! When added to some cheap local Calvados with some sliced fruit and ice it made a very acceptable summer punch.
After my experience I would not buy pure Goji juice.
Cheers

I put lots of goji berries in our home-made museli. also make goji berry flap jacks and muffins. we have not tried the juice as it is difficult to find in north wales ! I make goji tea sometimes though...and it tastes great on its own or with a spot of honey. We like them in porridge and rice pudding too. I find the dried berries a bit of a chore to munch so soak them for an hour or so so they are juicy and soft. I would try the juice I think it would be a refreshing beverage and it would make refreshing ice lollies in the summer........Umm I wonder about Goji berry ice cream....... worth a try..cheese cake, fruit bread, chutney,.endless idea.keep on gojing !
